Location code: Aquarium strain | | Water conditions: Moderately soft and acidic | Water temperature: 20-23oC | | Disposition: Slightly timid | Community tank?: Doubtful, only with VERY calm fish | | Spawning Method: Spawning Mops | Breeding problems: none | | Sex ratio: Somewhat female heavy | Breeding difficulty: Average | | Sucess: Fairly unsucessful | Years Experience: 1 | | Other Comments: Although not prolific egg layers they do give one to five eggs a week, the eggs are susceptible to fungi so need to be kept in water with either meth blue or acroflavin, hatching takes around 20 days and the fry are not hard to rear but need fresh hatched brine shrimp from day one. Growth of youngsters is average for killi's there were no signs of cannibalism that I detected | | Date this record created: 17th July 2008 | Breeding date: | | Breeder: Brian Wilson | Location: Lymington |

Location code: Aquarium strain | | Water conditions: Very soft and acidic | Water temperature: 16-19oC | | Disposition: Active, but not aggresive | Community tank?: Only with species of similar size | | Spawning Method: Long term (fry appear with adults) | Breeding problems: Skewed sex ratio | | Sex ratio: Somewhat female heavy | Breeding difficulty: Easy | | Sucess: Very sucessful | Years Experience: 3 | | Other Comments: A. louessense RPC 33 is easy to breed. I took three pairs and put each pair in a ten gallon tank with a thick cover of Giant salvinia and a clump of Java moss. I fed baby brine shrimp, frozen bloodworms, blackworms and a flake food slurry. Changed 70% of the water every two weeks. Filtration in by a box filter with floss and rocks only. Many fry appeared in all three tanks. A very pretty fish!
