I would say the male to female ratio is 1:2. Have had several productive old females turn into males!!! One of which has sired many fry. Quite a long lived fish: ~3 yrs. Can be very productive at time and eggs are not sensitive. Likes light. Fry appear with parents if well fed and if the tank is large enough. They will eat most foods offerred.
