Location code:
Aquarium strain
Water conditions: Moderately soft and acidic Water temperature: 20-23oC
Disposition: Active, but not aggresive Community tank?: Never
Spawning Method: Peat (or similar) spawning substrateBreeding problems: none
Sex ratio: Somewhat male heavyBreeding difficulty: Easy

Breeder: David BakerLocation: Maidenhead, UK

Location code:
Aquarium strain
Water conditions: Moderately soft and acidic Water temperature: 20-23oC
Disposition: Active, but not aggresive Community tank?: Never
Spawning Method: Peat (or similar) spawning substrateBreeding problems:
Poor egg survival
Sex ratio: Roughly equalBreeding difficulty: Difficult
Sucess: Fairly unsucessfulYears Experience: 5
Other Comments: High temperatures, over moist peat during storage, and extended storage times (over 3 months at 23C ) will cause fry deformities. Best results are from 3 months at 21C max. Fry grow rapidly, and are easy to raise, but not many hatch (compared to e.g. nigripinnis.)
