Other Comments: This species like a lot of flow on the tank and are a natural shoaling fish so if you can keep them in groups of 8+ (3 male + 5 female). The male goes through a sort of courtship dance following the female around and spreading his fins, (similar to a peacock)the eggs are pushed into small crevices as opposed to depositing them on mops or peat. If you want more information on this please contact me. The fry are easy to raise taking live or frozen baby brine shrimp from hatching. Hatching takes about 14-21 days. If you can try and provide some air flow into the hatching pot as this seems to improve the hatching rate of the eggs and eliminate belly sliders. The fry are transfered to a growing on tank that is 14 inch x 13inch x 9 inch high and as with the parents tank a strong flow is provided via a sponge filter the fry shoal immediately and seem to prefer swimming directly in the flow. If you would like any more information on any of the above or have any other questions please contact me.
