Breeding Report: Lacustricola bukobanus
Location code: Mityana UGJ 99-17
Water conditions: Neutral, 24-27oC
Spawning Method: Adult fish removed from tank
Sex ratio: Roughly equal
Breeding difficulty: Average
Success: Fairly successful
Other Comments: This is a really delicate little lampeye. If they have room, and a regular supply or baby brine shrimp they will thrive. In a well planted tank fry appear quite soon, and whenever I see them, I move the adults on. I think fry will be eaten, though maybe not if continually plyed with food. They do take other foods, but when they get artemia, they really do get excited Brine shrimp does help to increase the yellow in the fins of these fish. Generally quite hardy with regard disease (no sign at all) and water quality, but I have lost a few to jumping, but not too many My water is an RO/tap blend to about 300ppm
