Other Comments: This is really an update on the previous report. They were obviously too young before. My 2 original pairs are (I estimate) 8-9 months old, and for the last 3+ months have been breeding profusely. Best results were acheived by storing mops in fish bags for 2 weeks, but I have had a continual number of young appearing with the adults.

Other Comments: This species seems to lay masses of eggs in mops though most seem to die soon after picking. I have also removed whole mops for storage, but without better results. Long term breeding works; the parents are tolerant of their young, however the quantities produced are well below the number of eggs laid. Overall this is a shy fish that needs lots of hiding places, but is quite tough other than that.

Other Comments: Eggs taken from mops tend to disappear in my Petri dishes. Adults eat live , frozen and dried food . The adult males jump out of the water to take grindal worms off the end of a paint brush held over the water.
