Males are larger than females at birth. Seperate sexes immediately or feed heavily and constantly! Starts breeding at one month. Favourite food is pinhead crickets or fruitflies. 7 month incubation at 24C, 5 months at 27C. Higher temps may produce more females. Mine were in straight rainwater. Large tank a neccesity. Suggest 100L. Adult fish can cross this tank in one stroke! Fish can jump 20cm straight up. Suggest 27C water if you can feed 2 times daily, otherwise 24C. Best egg production at 27C. Finca population is more colourful, but harder to breed than Apure location. | | Date this record created: 31st October 2004 | Breeding date: 30th October 2004 | | Breeder: Robert Meyer finpark@msnDOTcom | Location: Illinois, USA |
