A commonly seen notho that is an ideal introduction to the genus. Easy to keep, feed and breed.

Both red and yellow strains exist, along with a number of intermediaries, both aquarium mixes, and natural populations

Initially, the only known populations of N. korthause were believed to have been from Mafia island, off the coast of Tanzania, however mainland populations were collected in 2001; these were finally redescribed as Nothobranchius ruudwildekampi in 2009.

This is a peaceful fish, that can be easily raised in a group. Like all notho species, they do prefer livefoods
