Water conditions: Very soft and acidic, 20-23oC
Spawning Method: Spawning Mops

Other Comments: Small number maintained by Steve Davidson who to spread risk of losing the population gave a pair to myself & another member to maintain.Kept in 16x8x8in tank with peat bottom & java moss as mop.Temp 69 to 72F PH about 5.5 & 30ms.Fed on frozen brine shrimp & bloodworms plus any live food available.Tank received no artificial light nor sunlight.Very skittish & no eggs until w/ended 4/8 when 8 large eggs deposited.Subsequent weeks up to 21/9 saw eggs,8,8,12,18,9,10 &16.High % hatch wether dry or wet storage."Dry" storage on very wet peat at 78F took approx 20 days & at 72F approx 22 days.Fry accepted new hatch brine shrimp without difficulty.Largest fry too small for sex analysis at this time.
