Average success
Breeding Report: Aphyosemion exiguumLocation code: Ekombiti
Water conditions: Moderately soft and acidic, 20-23oC
Spawning Method: Spawning Mops
Breeding problems: Poor egg production
Sex ratio: Almost all males
Breeding difficulty: Difficult
Success: Average
Other Comments: Prefers rain water and dim lighting. Does not lay eggs until several days after water change, most productive days being 5-8 days after WC. First batch of fry had only a single female. The female usually lays 1-2 eggs a day when in good mood. Eggs are laid in both floating and bottom mops, green mops are preferred over black. Fry are quite hardy and there has not been many losses. For breeding, soft, acidic water is needed.
