Spawning Method: Long term (fry appear with adults)

Other Comments: Reproduced at 19-21°C, pH 6.4, KH 4, GH 4 (195µs estimated), fed with alive food (2 types). Eggs are dropped anywhere (roots, moss, salvinia natans roots), hatched in 12 days at 21°C. They survived 7 days at 30°C then started to perish, had to drop at 26°C to make them eat again. The male chases the female so she needs good hiding places. The fry and then the parents got used to eat dry food : Dr Basseler Biofish-food and Dennerle NanoGran, they dont eat if it touches the ground.

Sex ratio: Roughly equal
Breeding difficulty: Easy
Success: Very unsuccessful
Other Comments: This fish used to be known as A. Lujae, and A. Ogoense Ottogartneri. It is incredibly beautiful and the colors never seem to fade except a little in strong light. I have had much better luck with this fish than A. Australe. They are a little cannibalistic, so don't expect to see many fry growing up with the parents. This seems to be their only bad trait. They sex out in about 3 months.Altogether a great fish.
