Other Comments: Have raised this species in water soft to hard and with ph ranges of 5.4 to 8.4.... They also do well using the long term method using a thick cover of floating and submerged plants. Some club members place larger fry in outdoor ponds for rapid growth, weather permiting. Very fast growth rate with live foods including, bbs daphnia, whiteworms, small bloodworms and mosquito larva. Will eat flake foods occasionally.
