Breeding Report: Poropanchax luxophthalmus luxophthalmusWater conditions: Moderately soft and acidic, 24-27oC
Spawning Method: Long term (fry appear with adults)
Sex ratio: Roughly equal
Breeding difficulty: Very easy
Success: Very successful
Other Comments: I keep the fish in large plastic boxes, with many plants including moss and surface plants. They like to be in groups. Males are a bit aggressive with other males, but live together. I not tried to place them with other species. Mating occurs naturally, and the fry appear in short time. They lay eggs on the leaves of plants and moss. But I imagine that adults can eat the young fish that need the plants to hide. If you remove the newly hatched and put into another container the survival rate increase. They eat industrialized and live food.

Breeding Report: Poropanchax luxophthalmus luxophthalmusWater conditions: Moderately soft and acidic, 24-27oC
Spawning Method: Spawning Mops
Breeding difficulty: Easy
Success: Fairly successful
